Today in honour of my Mayan customers, I thought we would feature the art of Brazilian Embroidery ... OK it is a bit South of the Yucatan Peninsula, but at least it is the same continent.

This 3-dimensional design was designed by Maria Freitas. The embroidery pattern comes on a 16 " X 16 " (approx 40cm x 40cm) trigger fabric and the embroidery design is 9 X 7 " (approx 21cm x 16cm)

The Brazilian embroidery flowers include Daisies, French Hydrangeas, Eucalyptus flowers, Almond Blossoms and more. Brazilian Embroidery Hearts and Flowers Designs that are wonderful as individual designs or can be put together to make a quilt.

You can create this dramatic sampler using only eight basic embroidery design stitches!

This design plus many more are available now at Crafty Frog, Kambah.  Please note this is for the fabric only .... the friendly staff will be happy to provide a quote on kitting it up.

Aunt Martha Hot Iron Transfer Pattern

Dottie the Duck Iron On Transfers by Aunt Martha's Price: $3.50 Item: 3400AM Use for embroidery, fabric painting, wearable art, needlepoint and other crafts. These designs would make really cute dish towels, aprons, fancy napkins, table runners, pillow cases, quilts,  table cloth, hot pads, pot holders, decorative clothing, &/or decorative art. There are instructions on how to transfer the design and color suggestions. 

For over 70 years Aunt Martha's has been making hot iron transfer designs.
These antique reproduction designs can be used for embroidery, fabric painting, needlepoint, wearable art and other crafts. Each transfer is good for several stampings.

Aunt Martha's hot iron transfer patterns are printed on a giant 18" x 24" sheet of 32# newsprint paper. Each pattern is printed with a black transfer ink.

Boye Punch Needle Set Great for the beginner, the experienced user, or as a gift. Variety allows for more uses and applications as can be used with fine medium and thick thread and floss or yarn. Easy to adjust allows for greater variety in textures. Punch Needle Embroidery Set includes 3 color coded needles sizes 1.2, 1.6, & 2.2mm, needle guide, & needle threader. About Punch Needle: Punch Needle goes back to the Ancient Egyptians. They developed the technique of threading fibers through the hollow bones of birds wings in order to   Punch  the threads through cloth, creating a nubby, three-dimensional effect. Punch Needle uses a special needle, hoop, weaver's cloth (or any tightly woven fabric, such as muslin), and embroidery floss to create designs that consist of tiny loops. The designs are miniature so punch needle is a perfect way to use up some of those stashes of floss we all have from other projects. The needle is a hollow tube. A special long threader is used to thread the needle. There is no counting involved. You are just filling in color areas. The project is worked in a hoop from the back of the fabric. The tiny loops are placed close together so the finished product has a textured, chenille look.
